Bike Repair Stations

We believe in pedal power and getting out on the paths and trails of Delaware. Over the years, Dogfish has been able to contribute Bike Repair Stations & Pumps along many of our multi-use trails, including along the Gordon’s Pond Trail, the Junction & Breakwater Trail, The Castle Trail, at the Dogfish Head Brewery, at the Lewes Library Trailhead, and in downtown Wilmington.

Developing Artist Collaboration

As they say over at Developing Artist Collaboration, “expanding the arts starts with the artist.” Dogfish Head is proud to support DAC and their great work providing artists with career development, peer connection, and physical spaces to build elevated creative lifestyles. We’ve partnered with DAC through our Benevolence Beer series and our Benevolence Tips program.

Environment

The Nature Conservancy

Dogfish Head has partnered with The Nature Conservancy in many ways over the years. The Dogfish Dash directly benefitted TNC for 13 years, raising more than $1,000,000 to help protect nature in Delaware. Dogfish Dash dollars help to fund projects like the replacement of a non-powered vessel dock at the Edward H. McCabe Nature Preserve and reforestation projects at both McCabe Nature Preserve and at the Ponders Tract Preserve.

History Book Festival

The organizers of Lewes’ History Book Festival know that it is vital to provide opportunities to learn from history – to hear stories from all corners of the human experience and talk with each other about what those stories mean for us today. For eight years now, the HBF has brought world-class authors to coastal Delaware each November to shine a light on historical stories and storytellers, and we’ve been proud to support their efforts!

Grove Park Dock & Canal Access

In October, 2009 we hosted a group of beer drinkers on a kayak trek down the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal. On the heels of that excellent adventure, we kicked off a 10-year effort to advocate for a public access to the canal in Rehoboth Beach. Beer & Benevolence partnered with a diverse group of citizens/stakeholders from the Lewes & Rehoboth communities to advocate for, plan, fundraise and eventually help oversee the creation of the Grove Park Dock & Canal Access. Dogfish was proud to support the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal Improvement Association and their partnership with the City of Rehoboth Beach to make the dock a reality.

Dogfish Head Learning Garden

Dogfish Head is proud to support the Delaware Botanic Gardens, and we are honored to have the Learning Garden share our name. The Dogfish Head Learning Garden features re-creations of two distinct Delaware habitats – a freshwater wetland and now rare inland dunes, a habitat that once flourished along the Nanticoke River in Sussex County. The garden inspires folks to celebrate and protect the unique beauty of southern Delaware.

Dogfish Head Canoe & Kayak Launch

Our Dogfish Inn is located along the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal in downtown Lewes, and we love quality time on the water be it by boat or non-powered vessel. Dogfish is proud to have supported the transformation of an antiquated town boat launch and parking lot into a beautiful downtown park. You can launch your kayak, canoe, or SUP from the Dogfish Head Canoe & Kayak Launch just steps away from our Inn.

Habitat for Humanity

Dogfish Head has proudly worked with the Sussex County Habitat for Humanity chapter for many years. Our first co-worker Benevolence Day was a 'Framing Frenzy' that was hosted in the parking lot of our original brewpub in downtown Rehoboth Beach. We've since been able to expand our efforts venturing to varying sites throughout Sussex County to lend a hand and build upon their great efforts.
