Dogfish Head
Beer & Benevolence
Back in the late 90s ‘Beer & Benevolence’ was a tagline on the back of a Dogfish Head baseball cap. We fell in love with the sentiment and soon the simple words morphed into the driving force for how we engage with our local communities.

Beer & Benevolence
A legacy of giving back
Dogfish Head’s Beer & Benevolence program, is how we give back to the communities that have nourished our roots in coastal Delaware. We’re proud to support the great work taking place in our home state by collaborating with nonprofit organizations that amplify the arts, improve our environment & those who build community. We sell beer in lots of amazing places, but know that impactful benevolence must start in your own backyard.

How Dogfish Head is making an impact
We're proud to work with so many amazing organizations throughout Delaware who are each doing incredible work to better the community we're lucky to call home.

Community
Bike Repair Stations
We believe in pedal power and getting out on the paths and trails of Delaware. Over the years, Dogfish has been able to contribute Bike Repair Stations & Pumps along many of our multi-use trails, including along the Gordon’s Pond Trail, the Junction & Breakwater Trail, The Castle Trail, at the Dogfish Head Brewery, at the Lewes Library Trailhead, and in downtown Wilmington.

Arts
Freeman Arts Pavilion
Dogfish Head is proud to support the Freeman Foundation’s evolution of the Freeman Arts Pavilion. As a champion of the arts in southern Delaware, Freeman brings diverse art performances to their stage each and every summer. Hope you get to enjoy a show at the Pavilion at some point!

Environment
The Nature Conservancy
Dogfish Head has partnered with The Nature Conservancy in many ways over the years. The Dogfish Dash directly benefitted TNC for 13 years, raising more than $1,000,000 to help protect nature in Delaware. Dogfish Dash dollars help to fund projects like the replacement of a non-powered vessel dock at the Edward H. McCabe Nature Preserve and reforestation projects at both McCabe Nature Preserve and at the Ponders Tract Preserve.

Crafting a New Chapter
To celebrate 30 Off-Centered Years, we’re doing a series of continual drops for continual hops! All year long, we're dropping exclusive, limited-edition merch items in our online shop. For May, we wanted to shine a light on our Beer & Benevolence program and bring back the hat that started it all (well ... officially, anyway). When Sam and Mariah stamped those words onto a cap, they fell in love with the sentiment and soon the simple words morphed into the driving force for how we engage with our local communities. And now you can get your own replica of this legendary hat!
