Raise a pint to rescue pups at Punkin Ale Fest

Fall is officially here, and you know what that means ... sweater weather, Punkin everything, and the return of our seasonal shindig, Punkin Ale Fest! We’re diving headfirst into the season at this family and dog-friendly event with seasonal sips, furry friends, fall festivities, and a special new brew inspired by one very good boy! 

This bark-tastic event on Saturday, October 11 will benefit the Brandywine Valley SPCA (BVSPCA) who will be on-site with some adoptable canine friends. Not only will tips be donated from our Milton Brewery all month long, but proceeds from the donation-based dog photo booth and raffles held at the event will benefit this amazing organization. 

But wait … there’s more!! It wouldn’t be a Dogfish Head event without a purr-fectly delicious collab beer! We teamed up with our pals at BVSPCA to brew up a Benevolence Beer that will be sure to get your tail wagging. Bob's Buddies Brew, an American Lager brewed with blueberries & ginger, will be making its debut at Punkin Ale Fest. 

“We’re so grateful to Dogfish Head for continuing to open their hearts and their craft to the animals who need us most,” said Jim Schmidt of BVSPCA. “Bob’s Buddies Brew is more than just a beer; it’s a tribute to the resilience of shelter pets and the communities that rally behind them." 

This one-of-a-kind beer celebrates a one-of-a-kind doggo named Bob, a lovable rescue who was a long-term resident of BVSPCA before finding his forever family. His journey helped inspire the opening of their Animal Rescue Center (ARC) and represents their commitment to the animals who need us, as well as the folks who love them. Bob’s Buddies Brew is a tribute to him and all the resilient rescue animals out there waiting for their forever families. Proceeds from the beer will be donated to BVSPCA to support their incredible work rescuing and rehoming animals. 

Punkin Ale Fest itself will be a full-blown fall celebration! From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 11, the Milton Brewery will be buzzing with live music, local craft vendors and food trucks, face painting, yard games, and of course, plenty of Punkin Ale and fall libations will be flowing. 

Bob's Buddies Brew will be available on draft and in 16oz 4-packs at both our Rehoboth EmPOURium and Milton Brewery. So, let’s raise the woof and cheers to rescue pups like Bob finding their fur-ever homes.
