Dogfish Head x Rolling Stone

Bottling the spirit of rebellion

For more than 30 years, music has been stitched into our DNA. Our brewpub stage has welcomed everyone from The Strokes to Black Pumas to Guided by Voices, and we’ve collaborated with icons like The Flaming Lips, the Miles Davis estate, Deltron 3030, and the Grateful Dead. This year, these beer geeks with a music problem are adding a fresh verse to the song we’ve been writing for decades with a full‑on partnership with the legendary Rolling Stone.

In Sam’s words, teaming up with Rolling Stone felt like kismet, a natural meeting of two crews who share a love of exploration, authenticity, and defying the status quo.

A limited-edition whiskey with rock & roll roots

At the heart of this partnership is a brand‑new, limited‑edition Dogfish Head x Rolling Stone Whiskey inspired by 250 years of American rebellion. Clocking in at 90 proof, this five‑year‑aged American single malt hits all the right notes. Similar to the makings of a great song, it’s layered with enticing sensory nuisances by blending the contents of 12 different barrel types, including our own brandy and whiskey barrels and even Samuel Adams Utopias barrels. The result is a complex yet smooth sip of Americana: caramel up front, allspice and sherry in the middle, and a velvety citrus‑kissed finish.

Only 900 cases exist, making this a true collector’s bottle for fans of craft spirits, music history, or both. This goodness is rolling out across DE, NY, NJ, MD, D.C., and MA as we speak ... er, type!, so head to our Fish Finder to find it near you.

Fourth of July on the Hudson

The whiskey won’t just be on shelves ... we’ll also be bringing it along with us to Rolling Stone’s Stateside Music Festival. Join us on Saturday, July 4 in Kingston, NY for not only some incredible music on the Hudson, but a line-up of off-centered beer (& cocktails) to drink music to.

Rolling Stone’s team even visited us in coastal Delaware to co‑create some killer cocktails that will feature our collab whiskey that festivalgoers will get a chance to try onsite. Consider it your backstage pass to the creative process.

An American-made merch collection that absolutely rocks

To celebrate the launch of our Dogfish Head x Rolling Stone Whiskey, we’re also teaming up to drop a limited‑edition, co‑branded capsule of merch that’s made right here in the USA. The collection includes:

  • A unisex T‑shirt
  • A women’s baby tee
  • A hoodie
  • A trucker cap
  • And of course… a whiskey glass

All items are available now in our e‑store and in the shops at our coastal Delaware spots ... until they’re not! Explore the full collection at shop.dogfish.com/pages/dfh-x-rolling-stone.

‘How Punk, Hip-Hop, and Craft Beer Share the Spirit of ‘76”

an article by Sam Calagione featured in Rolling Stone

To mark our nation’s 250th birthday, Rolling Stone tapped a crew of Americans to help celebrate the gifts that America has shared with the world, from prom traditions to folk music to the magic of neighborhood bodegas. As part of this collection, our brewer and founder Sam Calagione penned a piece exploring three world‑shaking art forms born from rebellion that flourished on American soil: punk, hip‑hop, and craft beer.

Sam’s article is a love letter to the makers, risk‑takers, and rule‑breakers who helped shape these movements, and to the shared spirit of independence that still fuels them today.

Read his full piece online or in the June 2026 issue of Rolling Stone.

For us and Rolling Stone, this collaboration is more than a moment. It’s a shared commitment to craft, culture, and the kind of joyful rebellion that keeps creativity alive. Here’s to the music that moves us and the off‑centered adventures still ahead.
