Just Richard is the latest in a series of beers to make its way up through the ranks of our Co-Worker Small Batch Brewing competition.  Way back in March 2013, Pub Brewer Ben Potts and Distiller Alison Schrader took home the prize for the first quarter of the year with their English Style Old Ale brewed with Roasted Chestnuts and Spotted Dick in the mash.  No, they did not subject their beer to lewd behavior… Spotted Dick is actually a traditional English dessert, not terribly common here across The Pond.  A spiced bread pudding with raisins, the dessert actually compliments the malty stone fruit flavors of the pale ale and caramel malts, as well as the roasty nutty character added by the roasted Chestnuts.  Originally this beer had a much more suggestive name for fun with our co-workers, but for the sake of staying light hearted, we decided we’d go with Just Richard for the wide release.

Just Richard will be tapped on Friday, January 10, 2014 and will be available until it's gone.
